Rules for the implementation of the examination for foreign students in Jiangsu University are formulated in order to cultivate good ethical and disciplinary concepts for foreign students and in light of the actual situation of our university.
Chapter I Examination Propositions
Article 1 The examination contents shall focus on examining foreign students'mastery and application of the basic contents of the courses and their innovative and pioneering abilities.
Article 2 Examination methods may be closed-book or open-book; written examination, oral examination or combination of written examination and oral examination may be used.
Article 3 The proposition of an examination shall be handled by a special person. The examination questions shall be examined and approved by the director of the Department (teaching and research department). In principle, a unified examination (including a supplementary examination) shall be carried out for the same course.
Article 4 Each course shall prepare two sets of test questions A and B, which are of equal weight and difficulty. Standard test paper should be used in the test paper, which should indicate the time of examination and the distribution of scores; if the open-book test should indicate the word "open-book". After examination and approval by the director of the Department (teaching and research department), the examination papers and the printed papers will be sent to the Overseas Education College one week in advance. One set of examination papers will be selected by the Academic Affairs Department as the examination papers, and the other set will be reserved for the makeup examination.
Article 5 All curricula shall gradually establish "examination questions bank" or "examination papers bank" so as to make the examination work more scientific and standardized.
Chapter II Examination Organization
Article 6 Final examinations, make-up examinations and retake examinations shall be arranged uniformly by the Overseas Colleges of Education. No individual may arrange examinations on his own without the consent of the Overseas Colleges of Education. At the end of the semester, the exam time shall be determined by the teachers and arranged by the Academic Affairs Department or the Graduate School.
Article 7 Each examination hall must be equipped with two supervisors, the first and the second. The current invigilator is a teacher, and the assistant invigilator is equipped by the relevant colleges. Fifteen persons or less shall be equipped with one invigilator, and fifteen persons or more shall be equipped with two invigilators.
Article 8 Foreign students shall enter the examination hall and sit in opposite places.
Article 9 During the final examination period, the Overseas Institute of Education will take the lead in forming a joint inspection group to inspect the examination room. And do a good job of examination room inspection registration or disciplinary treatment.
Article 10 During the examination period, the logistical departments shall do a good job of logistical support to ensure the smooth progress of the examination.
Chapter III Examination Discipline and Disposal of Discipline Violation
Article 11 Foreign students participating in the examination shall not bring books, notebooks, communication tools, self-prepared manuscripts and other articles into the examination room except necessary stationery. If they have been brought into the examination room, they must be placed centrally before the examination.
Article 12 During the examination, foreign student certificates and valid certificates must be carried, and seated in designated compartments. After seating, the foreign student certificates shall be placed on the top left of the table for inspection by invigilators and inspectors.
Article 13 Foreign students who take the make-up examination (including the postponed examination) and the self-taught re-exam must have "complete double certificates", that is, they must present their foreign student certificates and the pass for the make-up or self-taught re-exam at the same time.
Article 14 Candidates must enter the examination room five minutes in advance. Those who are more than 15 minutes late after the beginning of the exam are not allowed to take the exam and shall be treated as absent from the exam.
Article 15 Answers must be completed independently. Open-book examinations may be read with the teacher's consent, but they may not copy or ask others to answer the examination papers, nor exchange textbooks and various reference books.
Article 16 Candidates who hand in their papers in advance must leave the examination room immediately after handing in their papers. They may not stay inside or outside the examination room, make noise or influence other people's examinations. When the examiner announces that the time for the examination has come, the examinee must immediately stop answering the questions and put them back on the desk. The invigilator will collect the examination papers and check their correctness before leaving the seat. Candidates are not allowed to take the examination papers, answer papers (including answer cards, answer papers) and draft papers out of the examination room.
Article 17 The invigilators have the right to put forward other requirements for organizing the examination according to the situation of the examination room, and the examinees must obey them.
Article 18 Candidates who fail to observe the discipline of the examination room or the arrangement of the examination staff and commit any of the following acts shall be deemed to have violated the discipline in the examination and shall be given the following sanctions according to the seriousness of the circumstances.
1. Carry items other than those specified into the examination room and do not place them in the designated place.
2. Failure to take the exam in the required seats;
3. Answer questions before the start of the examination signal or after the end of the examination signal;
4. Peeping, whispering, signaling or gesturing during the examination;
5. Do not leave the examination room immediately after handing in the paper, and make a noise in the examination room or in the corridor.
6. To leave the examination room without the consent of the invigilator;
7. Take test papers and answers (including answer cards and paper) out of the examination room.
8. Other violations of examination rules determined by the school have not yet constituted cheating.
Article 19 In the course of an examination, one of the following acts shall be considered as cheating:
1. Plagiarize the exam content on the draft paper, including deliberately moving the answer sheet for neighbors to peek and copy.
2. Pass on notes related to the content of the exam.
3. Look through books, notes, materials or materials related to the content of the examination in the closed-book examination.
4. Exchange of books, notebooks or other relevant information in open-book examinations.
5. Participating in collective cheating by three or more persons.
6. Write the content related to the examination in advance at the desktop and other places.
7. The marking teacher finds the same test paper and confirms it.
8. Other Behaviors Affecting the Authenticity of Examination Achievements in the Process of Examination
Article 20 Whoever commits one of the following acts shall be a serious cheater in an examination:
1. Ask others to take the exam or take the exam on behalf of others.
2. To alter the names of other people's papers for their own use, or to sign their names on their own papers.
3. Organize three or more people to cheat collectively.
4. Exchange papers.
5. Cheating by using mobile phone and other communication equipment.
Article 21 Foreign students who cheat in examinations shall be treated as follows:
1. Whoever Cheats for the first time shall be punished by detention and inspection and disqualified for degree award. Whoever cheats seriously for the first time or cheats for the second time shall be ordered to drop out of school.
2. The score of the cheating course is recorded on the registration file with zero marks. The word "cheating" is indicated when the grade is registered, and the course is revamped.
3. Cooperative cheaters and cheaters should be treated equally.
4. Notify the whole school and parents of the result of the punishment.
Article 22 Where foreign students violate discipline in examinations, invigilators shall promptly rectify the violation and report the violation to the Overseas Education College with written materials after the completion of the examination. If any foreign students cheat, the invigilator shall immediately cancel the examination qualification of the cheating foreign students, and after the examination, report the cheating foreign students'examination papers, the relevant evidence and the brief information of the cheating process to the Overseas Education College in writing. The Overseas Education College shall submit its treatment opinions to the school for the record.
Article 23 After an examination, foreign students shall not unreasonably entangle with their teachers for examination results, let alone threaten them. Otherwise, they will be dealt with according to school discipline. If the circumstances are serious and violate the law, they will be expelled from school and handed over to the judicial organs for processing.
Chapter IV Inspectors'Code
Article 24 The invigilators must do a good job of invigilating examinations with a high sense of responsibility and meticulous spirit, eliminate the hidden dangers of cheating, eliminate cheating and ensure the smooth progress of examinations.
Article 25 Both the supervisor and the assistant supervisor shall enter the examination room 10 minutes in advance. They shall do so before the examination:
1. To announce the examination discipline to foreign students and clarify the matters needing attention in the examination;
2. Foreign students are required to place books, materials, electronic dictionaries and other items that have been brought into the examination room in designated places and are not allowed to take seats.
3. For example, foreign students have brought mobile phones and other communication tools into the examination room, and explicitly require foreign students to turn off their mobile phones and hand them to the invigilators for safekeeping.
4. Arrange or adjust the seats of foreign students. If foreign students do not obey the arrangement, invigilators have the right to disqualify them.
5. Require foreign students to put their international student certificates or other valid certificates in the upper left corner of the table.
6. Counting the number of students and checking their certificates. Foreign students without international student certificates or other valid certificates are not allowed to take the examination.
Article 26 Before the examination, the invigilator shall reiterate the examination discipline to the foreign students and explain the matters needing attention in the examination. The assistant invigilator should take the initiative to assist the invigilator teachers in preparing for the examination.
Article 27 When invigilating an examination, invigilators shall do the following:
1. Do not give any explanations or suggestions to the contents of the examination papers except for the printing problems, and do nothing unrelated to the invigilation work.
2. Do not answer mobile phones, chat and laugh;
3. Do a good job in dealing with violations of discipline and cheating in examinations;
4. When the final time of the exam arrives, the students should be declared to stop answering the questions. Only after the examination papers and the answers have been counted can the foreign students leave.
5. After the examination, invigilators should carefully fill in the "Registration Form of Examination Sites".
Article 28 The inspectors who are absent without reason, neglect of their duties in invigilating examinations or who turn a blind eye to or turn a deaf ear to the cheating of foreign students shall be treated as teaching accidents and shall be dealt with in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Measures for the Recognition and Treatment of Teaching Accidents in Jiangsu University (for trial implementation).
Chapter V Scoring of Examination Papers
Article 29 The evaluation of examination results shall be impartial and objective, and shall be carried out strictly according to the scoring standards.
Article 30 Foreign students who have doubts about the score must apply for it. With the consent of the Overseas Education Institute, the director of the Department (teaching and research department) shall arrange the examination papers.
Article 31 The examination results of each course shall generally conform to the law of normal distribution. Otherwise, teachers should submit reports to overseas education institutes to explain and explain.
Article 32 Teachers shall collect, analyze and summarize the questions in the answers of foreign students in a timely manner through the examination paper review, and do a good job in the analysis of the examination papers and the collation and filing of the examination papers. They shall also report in writing to the teaching and research department on the teaching situation and examination work during the semester, and put forward suggestions for improving the teaching of this course in the future.
Article 33 The marking of final examinations (supplementary entrance examinations) and self-taught retake examinations should be carried out promptly. The transcripts and summaries of the examinations should be sent to overseas education institutes within 3 days after the examination (public courses with a wide range of subjects can be extended for one to two days appropriately). Teachers who fail to complete the marking work on time for some reasons must report to the Department (teaching and research department) for arranging other people's marking without delay. No one has the right to change the transcript after the teacher and the director of the research office sign it to the college. In case of special circumstances, the former teacher should submit a written report, which can be changed only after the examination and approval of the dean of the relevant college. The written report is attached to the transcript for reference.
Article 34 The schools authorize overseas education institutes to interpret these Rules.
